I Love Bows

Afternoon Guys! I'm a bit obsessed with bows at the moment. I've been buying clothes and jewellery with bows on so I thought I'd post this bow print on for a bit of fun and to reflect my mood at the moment. I based it on some of the 50's prints I been looking at in my All wrapped up book. Hehe!!

Delicious Print Books

Hi Bloggers! You may have noticed that I haven't posted for a while-sorry about that. I've been working at a design studio for the last few weeks which has been great. Anyway I'm back and I'd like to share my new purchases with you..........some books! As I'm a brand new freelancer I'm slowly building up a inspirational library for myself so I'm constantly surrounded by inspiration! These are a few books I've bought -Patterns  A collection of gorgeous patterns by Booqs, V&A patterns of the fifties, (The famous Blogs) Print and Pattern by Bowie Style, All Wrapped up by Kevin Akers and The ultimate guide to running a successful freelance Business by Meg Mated Ilasco and Joy Deangdeelert ( Very much needed that one and highly recommended).

Here's a little snippet from all wrapped up. As I've more then likely mentioned before I looooovve Fifties print so I was very excited to get this book. It's full of designs of Fifties gift wrap and It's just gorgeous!

Stylo Bird

This is a card design Idea I've been working on called Stylobirds. I love bright colours contrasting against black. I hope you Love it!

Here's a design I came up with whilst playing around with some doodles and some old prints I had. I think it looks quite retro. I love retro print, especially one's from the 50's. Let me know if you think the same.

I Love flowers, especially pink one's. They brighten up my studio and make me smile! If you want to send me any feel free :)

Cute oil lamp

While out shopping today I bought this gorgeous oil lamp from Joy.............how cute! I can't wait to use it! I love the retro feel it has. It goes very well with my kitchen.

My Blackberry phone cover

Before I go to work today (I'm in a studio 4 days this week) I thought I'd share something funny with you...........my blackberry phone cover. Personally I love it. I can't have a plain boring phone so I like to bling it up. My friends all hate it and one discribed it as digustingly beautiful but I'm madly in love with it.

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. I'm not very good at setting these things up so I'm very pleased that I managed to set it all up myself. My names Michelle McClelland and I'm a freelance designer in surface pattern. I adore patterns.......all of them! I haven't got a website set up as of yet so I'll be posting all my new designs on here for the time being and look forward to any comments you would like to make.  I've been working on some 50s style prints called 50s revival. I origonally started this at university and it's a project I always wanted to develope further. Have a look a tell me what you think. I love them!
