As it's mother days soon, I've been working on a few ideas due to there being so much inspiration around. Start looking in the shops folks and get your mum a lovely card-not long now! If you look through my blog you can see my work style varies. I go from sketchy and soft (yesterdays post) to bold and bright (today's post). You have to be varsitile in this industry so you can broaden your customer market. I like all the styles I do but if I'm totally honest I like to be bold and bright. Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Trying to be productive!
Hi Guys, hasn't the weather been gorgeous recently? I've been having one of those week where nothing I do looks right. If you're the creative type you'll understand how frustrating these moments are! I've been working on the below image and if you saw it when I first started it you would not believe it's the same image. It's gone from being pink, turquoise and lilac to the below colours. The inside of the card is to be coloured and in this case I've done it peach. I rather like this card and I hope you do to.

Full of hot air
Hi Guys, Hope you all had a great weekend. I thought I'd share with you a design I've been working on for my agent. He said he wanted a Hot air balloon design and this is what I came up with-Let me know what you think.
A THOUGHT FOR JAPAN
I don't like to talk about sad things on my blog but I feel I have to say something about Japan. As you all know the North and North East of the country were hit but a earthquake and devastating Tsunami on Friday. I've been watching the news today and seeing all the families looking for their loved ones is truely awful. I just wanted to say that all my thoughts and prayers are with those people at this difficult and very sad time. How to help-Click on the below link

yummy shops Continued
Hi Guys, sorry for not posting this yesterday. When I tried to post last night my internet went down. Anyway here are some more of my favorite lake District shops. We'll start with the amazing Poppy red in Hawkshead (they also have a shop in windermere. This shop is fabulous. it also have a cafe attached that sell tasty cakes and coffees. The shop is full of candles, jewellery and gorgeous gifts. Absolute must see in the lakes. Hawkshead is very tiny but definatley worth a look.
My favorite shop by far is Chesters by the River at skelwith bridge. This shop has top of the range/designer houseware products. they have a wondeful selection of cards and giftwrap and really great bath products to. The also have a AMAZING cafe, with cakes to die for! Please click on the link but the shop and cafe is must see.
My final favorite shop is one in Windermere (they also have a baby shop in Ambleside to) called the Scarlet Ribbon . It sells things like vintage clothes, handmade products, ribbons, buttons, jewellery and you can even hire vintage crockery from them. It's got a great website to so please click on the link. I'm sorry I didn't take any photos of the shops. I didn't take my phone with me anywhere as I wanted to get a proper break but then I realised how good some photo's would have been for the blog. I've learnt a valuable lesson! You'll just have to go on holiday to the Lakes and have a look for yourselves :)

Lake district Yummy shops Ambleside
If you love Yummy shops like me the Lake District is absolutley full of them. Today I'll share my favorite ones in Ambleside. The Bath house is full of really lovely bathing goodies such as gorgeous towels and Robes. The prints on them are really bright and vibrant. They also had really unsual printed shower caps and wash bags. I bought a really pretty light from there (below). Please click on the link to have a look at their site. The shop itself is much better.
Another of my favorites is The Attic which is hidden away down a cute side street. They sell really lovely greetings cards and things like vintage crockery, handmade teatowels, wooden hearts and general sweet nic naks. I can spend ages in this shop. There's so much to see, a really lovely shop.
Another favorite of mine is OCG Art Gallery which sells arts, jewelley and all things handcrafted by Various artists. They also sell very unusual greeting cards and giftwrap. Have a look at they're site by clicking on the link.
Come back tomorrow and I'll tell you some more of my favs :)
