Birthdays

There are so many birthdays of people I know this weekend. 5 people in fact! I've been so busy since having an agent which is good. I'm getting to design everyday and don't have to spend hours and days looking for work. Some people don't mind doing that but I for one can't stand it. I love nothing more then just designing away in my office! I'm working very hard coming up with new ideas. My agent wants 10 a week. It's great fun and I really hope it pays off. Well I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and for those of you who's birthday it is this weekend, happy birthday.......you know who you are. This card is for you :)

Gorgeous gift bags

I had to pop out this morning to get a little something extra for my friends birthday and I went to this great place near me called Redbrick mill Batley. It's got all sorts of amazing (and expensive housewares) gifts etc. I wanted to put my gifts in a gift bag and stumbled across these! I couldn't choose between them so bought both! Just look at the cute bird gift tag...........oooooh I love it. They're by a company called glick they've got some lovely bags. I might have to go back and buy more! Have a great day everyone.

Note card packs

Hello, I've been so busy lately-it's great! Today, inbetween designing I've been putting together a note card pack for my friend for her birthday (I hope she's not checking the blog or she'll see her gift!) She basically has been looking through my archives on here and chose which designs she liked and asked if I could make them into note cards for her so I thought I would do it for her birthday. The pack looks so cute...............I wouldn't mind one for myself hehe!

How cute! Designed all by me

I've got an Agent!

Afternoon guys! I thought I'd let you all know that I've got a new agent. It's very exciting and I look forward to working on different projects with him. If you are a potential client looking for me to work on any of your projects or comission please contact Richard Patey rpatey@puredesigngroup.co.uk .  I went to a pilates class yesterday. Perfect for freeing the mind.  I left feeling very fresh and full of new ideas so now I'm putting them into practice and being a very busy bee indeed.  I thought I'd leave you with this Happiness quote of the day that I thought very fitting.
" Happiness is no matter of events: it depends on the tides of the mind" Alice Meynell

My new desk

Hi guys, This may not be very exciting for you but I'm so excited about it I wanted to post this. Today I got my new desk for my office!! While this might sound not very interesting it's great for me as I've been working in the kitchen since I've been freelancing and it's been very uncomfortable. I'm now in our spare room, which will still be a spare room but now I have my own corner and there's a large wardrobe to the side which I will fill with all my books and materials. It's really exciting. It's got a long way to go before it looks perfect but at least it's at start. Once it's finished I will post a picture (it could be sometime) but for now you can see what it looks like. It's looks a bit sorry for itself at the moment but use your vision and look to the future. It's going to be great. I cant wait to work tomorrow!!

Looking a bit sad and empty at the moment but will be wonderful in a few months. I can't wait!

My Wedding Invitations

Wow we have some catching up to do don't we so here's two posts together to make up for the delay!!!  Anyway here are my wedding invitations. I'm so happy with them. I knew I wanted something that was really floral (we're having a country house floral theme) ,quite girly and in my colours. The flowers we're having are peonies so I wanted to incorporate them.  There are so many gorgeous invitations out there but although they were lovely, none of them were quite right for me and Rob. I looked everywhere for inspiration and came up with the below and I love them!!!  There's an Rsvp card and a Giftcard which slot into a sleeve inside the invitation.  I have to mention that my boyfriend Rob drew the fountain inside (aww).  If you are interested in me designing some invitations for you wether they be birthday, wedding or whatever drop me a mail michellemcclelland80@yahoo.co.uk and we can discuss any ideas you have.  Also the winner of the new years Resolution give away is Louise! Her resolution was one that was really positive and life changing so 5 christmas cards are coming your way Louise.

After the Deluge

When I went to Las Vegas recentley I saw this gorgeous painting in an art exhibition at the Bellagio Casion Called "Figuratively speaking". I saw loads of great works there but my favorate was Yoshitomo Nara's "After the deluge".  I completely feel in love with it and it made me quite emotional. The painting is huge and apparantley contains a personal message to Yoshitomo that he keeps to himself allowing viewers to come up with their own meaning.  I am a sucker when it comes to art galleries and museums.  I couldn't help myself but go in when we walked past the exhibition and I'm so glad we found it. My Boyfriend did a search on the internet the other night and put it on my phone as a screen saver and it brought back all those feelings. I thought I'd share it with you all. Enjoy!
