Hi guy's today is my birthday! 21 again of course! I'm having a lovely day so far and have been completely spoilt by my family and friends. I feel very touched. I'm have been shopping today and am now spending the rest of the day sewing as I've decided to do the Reetsweet craft fair in October and I'm very behind on my products but what a lovely day thing to do on your birthday. I couldn't be a luckier person :)

I really love prints from the 50's and 60's. The bold use of colour and vibrance really draws me in to them. Here are a few prints I've been working on inspired from that time. I would love to have been alive in that era (although I'd be very old now if that was the case) the style, the fashion and the colours- so Amazing and completely stand the test of time. I'm so busy at the moment, it's very exciting but because of this I've not been posting as much. Hopefully by the time I've finished being so busy I will have plenty of designs to show you, a website too and plenty of good news!

Here's something a bit different for me. Black and white! I normally like designing in nice bright colours but I thought I'd choose a different path and I'm really pleased with the effect. Black and white are so strong against each other. I have to say this could be one of my favourite ranges ever! Hope you like it too.

Hi all, I thought I'd share with you something quite unusual. A postcard made entirely of soap (well bubble bath confetti actually). I couldn't believe it when I found it, so of course had to buy it. Unfortunately there isn't any information on the back to tell me where it's from. It's quite a sweet gift but I suppose it depends how you look at it. Some people might think you're trying to tell the to have a wash hehe! Have a great day.

While I was at Alnwick Gardens on saturday, I found myself in the gift shop looking at cards. I have a bit of an obsession with greeting cards. I'm not to sure if thats normal or not hehe! I came across this cards which I though were really pretty. I hope they inspire you in some way.

This weekend I had the pleasure of visiting my sisters wedding venue which is at Alnwick Gardens in Northumberland. We had a fantastic lunch in the tree house (of which I forgot to take pictures- Sorry!) and then went on to explore the Gardens and water features. It's a very busy place and ideal for kids. There was a rather interesting section called the poisonous Garden which took you on a tour of some killer plants. Did you know Rosemary or Rhubarb leaves were killers? No neither did I! I really enjoyed it. If you are ever up in Northumberland it's definitely worth a visit. We were there all day! I took a few photos but please forgive me-I am an appalling photographer (you can probably see my finger covering the lens on some shots :D

As most of you creatives know we work in a very fiercely competitive industry and sometimes it can get you down when you get rejection after rejection. I myself sometimes feel this way but I remind myself that you have to stay positive and believe in what you do as you are the only one who can make it happen. Being positive keeps me going when times are hard. I always think just because that person didn't like my work it doesn't mean the next person won't. Art is subjective and people have different ideas and thoughts on what is amazing and what is not so. I know that there is someone out there who will like my work and thats what you should all remember. I always believe in what I do and visualise myself in the future as a success. It can take people years to be successful and others it can be instant but don't compare yourself to anyone. Never give up on your dreams and don't let anyone tell you you are not good enough because you are! Here's some positive images I've found (links below image). I hope they make you happy and stay positive :)

mmmm I'm in a bit of a strop at the moment as I wanted to write this great post about what I did at the weekend (I visited ReetSweet craft fair) and show you what I bought but my husband won't let me show anything as its my birthday present and my birthday is at the end of the month! No! How annoying! Anyway I will show you my lovely purchases when its my birthday and talk about the amazing lady who made them but in the mean time if you live in Leeds and want a different craft fair Reetsweet is really amazing craft fair. Everything sold is 100% handmade and completely unique. I'm hoping to exhibit my purses there myself. Please check it out-It's fab (please click on the link).

Here's some cards I've been working on called 'Secrets in Trees". I was inspired by all the creatures that come out of the large tree at the bottom of my Garden. I've even had a cat sleeping in my birdhouse thats in the tree which was really funny but not very good for the birds! I hope you like it. I love the colours.
