A result of my doodles

Like most creatives. I often doodle in my sketchbook. Then I scan the images in an play with them in photoshop.  I like the look of them as they're a bit softer then my computer work-although my handwriting isn't very neat haha! I hope you like them.

Pretty Beads

I had a day off yesterday and spent at least an hour in YumYum beads choosing beads (I would have been in there longer if Rob hadn't hurried me up hehe!) I'm wanting to get crafty again so I'm on the hunt for beautiful things. I laid all the beads out this morning and thought they looked so bright and colourful and some of them have really delicate details on them so maybe they will inspire you in some way.  I'm on the hunt for some yummy buttons now! Looks like it's going to be another hot day so enjoy :)

A inspirational evening

Oh dear oh dear. I'm not having much luck with technology at all today. The internet won't work on my lovely Mac so I'm having to do blogger today from a pc and my Mac wont let me save any images from it to my hard drive ( it must know it's friday so it's being a bit naughty) therefore I can't share any new artwork with you today so insted I thought I'd share with you what I got up to last night...... Well I was invited to the open evening of James Michelsbergs new shop in the Victorian quater of Leeds. James is a tailor (and a lovely man) and has just bought his own shop. He made Rob and my Dads suit for my wedding. It was a lovely evening and was very inspiring as he did a lovely speech about how having his own shop had always been his dream and 5years ago when he decided to be a tailor he could never have imagined he would get this far. I think it's so imported to support local businesses and individuals, especially in times like the present. James has been an inspiration to me and I left the evening feeling very positive about what I could achieve in the future. If you have a dream, work at it and never give up........they do come true :)

Sorry picture is a bit blurred. Mum had to much champange and Dad was off mingling at that point so we took it ourselves!

The grand opening!

A little treat for me :)

As some of you know blogger wasn't working yesterday so I couldn't post anything unfortunately. Anyway now I can post, I thought I'd tell you I sold some designs this week which was a little treat for me. I've posted them below for you to have a sneak peek. I can't say who they're for sadly but it's a UK publisher so have a little look out for them in shops! I can't wait to see my babies out there. Have a good day. It's time for a coffee break :)

A couple of prints

Here's a few prints I've been working on for my agent recently.  I like to try and be as versatile as possible to appeal to as many different customers as I can.  I just love prints! I'm so happy I get to do this everyday. I hope you like them.

My Little Office sneak peek

Morning! I thought I'd share with you the development of my teeny tiny office.  It hasn't moved on much from last time I shared photos with you as It's been so mad with the wedding. As my office is in a corner of the spare room and I don't have much storage space in my house, most of the wedding stuff was kept in spare room, not really allowing much room to move! However thats all gone now so I've started developing it.  We need to keep the spare room as a bedroom really as we do get alot of visitors-especially our parents! Anyway I like it. It's very cosy and gives me the room I need to be creative (the kitchen table really wasn't comfortable).  I feel like finally things are really coming together in my freelance journey :)

Hello!

Say hello to my little friend :)

Fathers day is almost here!!

Happy Friday everyone! As you all know it's Fathers days this Sunday so I hope you've all remembered to get your Dad a card! If not you've still got time so hurry up and post it today :) I haven't got any plans for fathers day. My bank account is still in recovery from our honeymoon and is most likely to be that way for some time otherwise I would've travelled up to Carlisle to see them (thats where I'm from Origonally). I'm hoping my parents will pop down to Leeds and visit me and Rob on Sunday and we can do something nice with them to celebrate.  Whatever you're doing have a great time with you Dads!

Butterflies

I've had the urge to put butterflies on everything lately, why I have no idea but it makes a change from birds and owls-hehe!  The following designs use the same butterfly.  I just wanted to show you my development process.  I started with the turquoise design then before I knew it I had 4 different backgrounds with butterflies on.  It's funny how your mind works.  Anyway hope you're all having a lovely day and you like todays designs.  Please feel free to leave comments.........I like comments good or bad :)

A few more pics.........The Amalfi coast

Although not very design related I thought I'd share with you a few more snaps from my honeymoon, this time from The Amalfi coast.  This place is picture postcard beautiful. We felt so relaxed and happy here. We stayed in a small fishing village called Priano and our hotel was out of this world.  We took a boat trip to Capri (which was ok, very pricey) and on the way we visited various grottos. We also visited the local town Prostiano (which was very quaint. With cobbled streets, little boutiques).  I would highly recommend the Amalfi coast. It's simply beautiful!

Snap shots from Rome!

Heres a few pics Rob and I took in Rome. We did go to the Sistine chapel and Museum also but typically Robs super duper camera ran out of battery!! The ceiling in the Sistine chapel is breathtaking but you're just going to have to take my word for it unless you do a search on the net as I have no pics :( Rome is such a beautiful city. The architecture is outstanding not to mention the food. It is however rather expensive so if you're planning a trip be sure to save your pennies. I don't want to ruin a potential trip to Rome for anyone by putting loads of pictures on so here's a little taster and a few funnies to!

An Italian souvenir.........Chip and dip bowl

Today I want to share with you some espresso cups and dip bowls I bought in South of Italy in a small town called Prostiano. Now, some  of you may think the designs are very naive but I love that look so had to buy them. They were all hand painted and in many different colours so when they were all displayed together it looked really effective. Many of the Restaurants in the town used had the table wear with these designs on and it really looked lovely. Unfortunately I wasn't aloud to take photos. I think the sqid is my favourite (remember it was by the sea). Each time I have an espresso or bowl of peanuts I'm reminded of my amazing honeymoon. Really wish I'd bought the plates now although I doubt they would have arrived home in one piece. I hope these inspire you in some way. I know they've inspired me.
