I'm changing my name!!!!

Happy Friday guys. Hope you're having a great day so far. I thought I would let you know that Michelle McClelland Design is changing it's name. As of sometime next week the blog will be under the name Me-Me Lou. My personal name will also be changed to Michelle Gemmel as many of you know I got married recently and the time has come for me to finally change it. I wanted a more catchy name. My family call me Me-Me and my middle name is Louise ( It's actually my sisters name too) so I put the two together and taa daaa Me-Me Lou was born!!! A website is in progress and I'm hoping to go live with that soon and the blog and twitter should hopefully be making it's change next week so look out for Me-Me Lou. I'm very excited about this change :)

I love Unicorns

For those of you who know me you'll know that I'm pretty obsessed with Unicorns. When I was little and people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, it was actually to be a Unicorn! A couple of prints

I've not got much to report at the moment other then it's hectic at the moment which I'm loving. I really hope all this hard work pays off. I've got lots of exciting things I want to do with my work and trying to do everything is quite difficult but something thats worth having never comes easily does it :) Here are a couple of prints I've been working on. The range is called Deelight. This is my favourite style of  work simple and bright. My favourite one is the paisley print. Hope you're having a good day everyone :)

Friday doodles

Happy friday guys. Today I thought I'd share more doodles with you. This range is called "I did a doodle". They are a result of some more doodles I've done in my sketch book (while watching telly). I played around with the images on the computer and I thought I'd try something different and put them in a frame so it looks a bit like a photo. I thought I'd use soft summery colours as inspired by looking through so many colour chart books for decorating ideas for the house!!! I love doodles. One thing I draw a lot when I'm not doodling consciously is eye's? They look rather scary so I don't ever do anything with them. I wonder if that means something. Maybe I'll share them with you next week and you can have a giggle. What do you guys tend to doodle when you're not thinking, I'd love to know. Have a great weekend and thanks for reading my blog :)

If I could design my own wallpaper

It would look like this! I'm dying to decorate my living room as after 6 years of being untouched, It badly needs It. After the wedding we said we would get to it. I've been searching all over the net for the perfect wallpaper and although there are some beautiful designs out there they often come with a hefty price tag. Me and Rob can't seem to agree on the designs either. He wants soft and simple where as I want something quite quirky and unusual (the REALLY expensive ones). The other day I thought If I could design my own wallpaper how would I do it. As you all know I'm obsessed with birds (although real life birds terrify me which is odd!) so I knew I had to have them and you can't have birds without trees so hay presto. The below is what I came up with and I love it so If any wallpaper companies are reading this please buy this off me and put it into production so I can have my very own dream wallpaper (if Rob lets me that is :)).

The wedding season

As it's the Wedding season I thought I would post a couple of wedding cards I've been working on for my agent. I did the sketches first and added textures in photoshop. I'm really quite pleased with the results if i do say so myself. I've got loads more to do! I love a good wedding. I'm not going to any this year (although I did go to my own which probably makes up for the lack of wedding action). I had 3 last year and two of my most favourite people (my sister and best friend) are getting married next year. A week apart I might add so I'm really looking forward to those and I'm a bridesmaid for both which is really special. Have a fabulous day.

Wish you were here

Rather depressingly my parents text me last night from their villa in Spain to say "We're eating pizza outside and its still warm at this time of night. We wish you were here" I would LOVE to be there to! Everyone loves holidays. You can never have to many.  It would be great if the weather in this country would make up it's mind.  Instead of being sunny and rainy in the same day maybe decide on one and stick to it-preferably sunny please.  It wouldn't feel so bad then.  I did this little piece of artwork with them in mind and here's hoping for a lovely HOT weekend (fingers and toes crossed) and that my parents enjoy the rest of their lovely holiday.
