Turkeys!

Here's a design my boyfriend asked me to do for him. He's been asking me to do Turkeys for a while now so I thought I'd do my own interpretation. They're not the most attractive creatures so I hope I made them look kind of pretty!

Gorgeous Christmas cards!

Happy Monday guys! I've had a busy morning so far. I've been to the gym, been looking for potential clients and I'm trying to put the finishing touches to my wedding invitations. I'm desparate to get some designing done. It's been a very hectic build up to Christmas this year. I can't believe it's almost here. I'm so excited! Anyway I'm in love with Habitat at the moment and I saw some of the Christmas cards they had on print and pattern and loved them. Although I often design and make my own cards, I still love to buy them and I think these are just lovely! Enjoy.

Scotland!

Hi, I had a recent trip to Aberdeen Scotland and thought I'd share a few pictures of how amazing the Icicles were. They looked pretty but deadly......I wouldn't want one falling on my head! The placed we stayed had so much snow it was unreal. The snow makes everything look beautiful but I'm glad it's gone now so we can get back to normal.

Gorgeous Tumblers!

Apologise for the lack of posts this week. I've been away for a few days and have been manic busy ever since getting Christmas shopping etc. It's almost done yipee! While out on my trip I couldn't resist a little treat for my home and purchased these gorgeous tumblers from Habbitat. I love birds as you know so Owls, in gold, on a glass, makes me very happy so I had to buy them. The photo below doesn't do them justice. I would just like to say a quick hello to the new visitors on the blog I've had recently "Hello and welcome".
Beautiful!

Personalised purses

Hello, as I mentioned yesterday I've been busy making some personalised purses for my friend so she can give them as Christmas presents. They really are a lovely gift to give your family and friends. I'm selling them for £12 each plus a £2 postage fee. You can still get them made and sent to you now in time for Christmas. Here's a picture below of how they look (The blue Gemily is finished, the rest are a work in progress at the moment). The print on the front shows what the print looks like on the back. If you're interested in buying your friends a unique gift please email me on michellemcclelland80@yahoo.co.uk

........and a partridge in a pear treeee!

Well I hope you're all inside today. I'm in the house and the snow has not stopped all day. I've been sipping on hot chocolate all day to keep warm. I've been busy making some purses for my friend who wants to customize them so her friends have her name on. A great Idea for Christmas presents. I'll post them as soon as there finished. I've also been busy designing some funny creature ideas for christmas cards. I've also been waiting for a potentially exciting phone call today but looking at the time I'm guessing they won't be calling me today :( Maybe tomorrow fingers crossed. It could be very exciting indeed. I have some more exciting things to tell you but I want the products first before I say hehe! Anyway It's the first of December today so her's a little festive image for you (another one but hey it is Christmas). I hope you like it.........I love it but is it to plain? Comments please and have a lovely evening.

Baubles

Good Afternoon. I hope you're all enjoying the snow. I know I am but I'm lucky I don't have to go out in it as I work from home so I'm nice and toasty. I had a great weekend. I went to Christmas adventure near wetherby. It really gets you in the festive mood. My favorite part is The enchanted forrest where you walk through a forrest full of illuminated creatures-very magical. Click on the link to have a sneak peak. Today I'm posting some ideas I've had on baubles. It'll be time to put the tree up soon so they're on my mind.

Santa's little helpers

This is a range inspired by some wooden Elf decorations I have for my Christmas tree. It's called 'Santa's Little Helpers'. I've posted them extra big so you can see the detail. I love the colours and the sketchy feel of the prints. I'm mainly working on Cheistmas prints/card designs at the moment for next years Christmas (I know!) I want to have a juicy selection behind me should anyone request Christmas designs. Have a great weekend everyone.

Betty Joy!

Morning! It's snowing outside and I'm suddenly feeling very Christmassy. There's something so lovely about the snow and it's funny that it can cause mayhem and caos but we still love it! Today I want to tell you all that the Michelle McClelland design blog has had a post put on Bettyjoy how exciting. Bettyjoy is a great craft blog and Lucia does many amazing craft classes based in Sheffield. I've put a little snippet below but to view the whole post go to http://bettyjoy.blogspot.com/2010/11/michelle-mcclelland.html. I'm very excited about this and just want to say a big thank you to Lucia.

An act of kindness

It's not very often you find very kind people that do nice things for you when they really don't need to but today I found one!  I bought me and my Sister a Blabbos cat Keyring by Kamibashi while on a recent trip to the US as they were super cute and we both love unusual looking things.
I sent my sister one and she lost it so I've been trying to find another one with no luck :(. I contacted the kind people at Kamibashi and they have gone out of they're way to help me and have organised another one for my sister. What nice people and their Blabbos range are so cute!
Here's a picture (not a great one) of the little guys (sadly the blue one is no longer with us).

It's cold outside!

Todays print reflects the way I'm feeling..........very cold! I've just come back from holiday where it was lovely and warm. It was such a shock when I got home as it's freezing!!! Anyway my favorite time of year is fast approaching so expect to see some Christmas prints on here over the next few weeks and enjoy this very cold Monday.

Little Birds

I'm noticing that I seem to be quite obsessed with designing birds at the moment.  I think they would look nice on kitchen textiles. I'm thinking of getting the first print made into a Canvas. It would look lovely on my wall.  I just Love them!  I've spent today contacting people.  It really takes such a long time and I'd much prefer to be designing in that time but when you're starting out you've got to get those contacts and say yes to every job until you've got a name for yourself and hopefully one day people will be hunting me down to work with me. It's definatley tough going freelance but I wouldn't change it now. I never thought I'd ever have the courage to do it but here I am and I am going to make it work so In the meantime if anyone reading this knows anyone that wants a versitile designer to work with them tell them of me :) ................................

Owls

Morning, It's not a very nice day out there today so I thought I try and make you all smile with some fun quirky owl prints I've been working on. The idea for these prints came to me when I was in bed and just about to go to sleep which is quite funny considering the idea was Owls! I find alot of ideas come to me at that time. It's very bizarre! I now keep a notebook beside my bed as sometimes I can't remember them in the morning.

Leafy

Hello! I've had a few difficulties posting today and have only managed to get pictures up now and they're different sizes (sorry but it's took so long to post them I'm just going to keep them like this for now and edit later!) I love these-inspired by all the leaves all over the grass in my back garden. I'm really loving these colours at the moment to. Had an interesting meeting today with a friend of mine about getting some work possibly printed and possibly buying some wool fabric to make some lucious cushions and sell them on my etsy shop........this is something I'm working on so I haven't got an etsy shop yet but watch this space it will happen (and I'm very excited about it)! Anyway she showed me around the mill she works in and it was really interesting seeing all the processes the wool goes through. I really enjoyed it so thank you Ruth!

Something for the kids.......maybe!

Good afternoon. Hope you've all had a lovely weekend. Mine was jam packed, doing lots of crafting for my craft fair. I've only got one weekend left to do everything before the big event so it's been manic. Anyway one of my friends has had a little baby girl recently and some other friends of ours are having babies to so it inspired me to do some cute prints for kids. They fun and lively, just like kids. The top print is called "Nelly the Elly" and the bottom is called "Naughty Apples". I hope you like them. All comments welcome!

It's F F F Friday!!

Yeay, It's Friday my favorite day of the week! Hope you've all got something nice planned for the weekend. It's been a busy week for me. I've been contacting lots of companies to see if they want any freelancers. Some of them have come back and said no but they love my work so thats really positive. I guess part of the journey is taking rejection on the head, dusting yourself off and trying again and I've taken it as a positive thing as they like my work yippeee! There are thousands of people for me to contact so I'll be doing that for the rest of the day. Last night while I was having a break I decided to look for some wedding inspiration as I'm getting married next year and found this fabulous blog  http://www.rockmywedding.co.uk/me . Alot of the brides make their own things for their weddings which I'm really into and I found some really cute DIY lanterns they told you how to make them on a blog called The design sponge  http://www.designspongeonline.com/ this website is fantastic. It tells you about all things design related. you must check it out. I just love it. Happy Friday!
